A love of creating, crafting and handmade design

I started Nanuk Jewellery in November 2009 but have always loved making things, and since then have expanded to include Nanuk Designs and more recently into making handmade books and boxes. Nanuk Handmade has been set up to showcase all my creative endeavours, and share my progress and development.

Everything is handmade from my home in Saffron Walden, UK, where I have a small workshop space for my silver jewellery and plenty of books to inspire my imagination. Nanuk Jewellery uses primarily silver, metal clay and gemstone beads to create colourful and bold one-of-a-kind designs, incorporating wire weaving and fine jewellery smithing techniques. Nanuk Designs began as a creative outlet for my spare time, but has gradually evolved as people love my steampunk-inspired creations as much as I do! Colourful dragons, Space Turtles and more can be found here, and I love giving them all unique personalities. Bookbinding is a more recent endeavour that also began as a personal hobby, but I am enjoying using these skills to link into my other work, for example in the creation of fine jewellery boxes.

When not working on any of the above, my spare time is spent reading, walking in the local countryside, or another creative pursuit such as knitting or embroidery. What I have not yet discovered how to create is more hours in the day!
